Executive Summaryसारांश

Several X handles claim National Security Adviser Ajit Doval said CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were let go but filmed in compromising images that would be leaked if they protested again. Fact-checkers have marked the claim fake. Doval made no such statement, and the posts pair an unrelated interview clip with an invented quote.Several X handles claim National Security Adviser Ajit Doval said CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were let go but filmed in compromising images that would be leaked if they protested again. On October 22, 2026, within roughly half an hour, the handles Clash Fire (@Clashfire_), Baba Thoka (@ThokaReturns), Sumit Sarkar (@sumit_sarkr), India Genz (@IndiaGenzzz) and Red Vanguard (@RedDeFacto) posted almost identical text. Attributed to Ajit Doval, it claimed Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka had been released only after intimate photos and videos of them were taken, and that these would be published if they protested again. Each post used the same clip of Doval speaking in an interview, carrying a “Baba Thoka” watermark. Fact-checkers have marked the claim fake. There is no record of the NSA making any such remark, and the video has nothing to do with the CJP or its leaders. The same wording, the same watermarked video and the synchronised timing are clear signs of coordinated inauthentic behaviour by accounts that have repeatedly spread fabricated content about India’s security establishment. The fake quote is designed to portray state agencies as resorting to blackmail and to inflame the ongoing protests over the Election Commission, so it should be reported, not shared.
