Images of a supposed new ₹1,000 banknote, yellow with a temple design resembling Thanjavur’s Brihadeeswarar Temple, are circulating on Instagram and other platforms. The account bodybuilder__anand, whose post carries an “AI content” label, wrote that the new note would be released in the market on the 15th. The verified creator vickysirlive posted photos of himself holding the “notes” with the caption “₹1000 Indian note is back?” and hashtags such as #NewNote, #RBI and #1000Note. An official “Stay Alert” advisory has marked the claim fake and stated that the Reserve Bank of India has not issued any new ₹1,000 currency note. ₹1,000 notes were withdrawn during demonetisation in November 2016 and have not been reintroduced. Any change to currency notes is announced only through official RBI notifications. Fake currency announcements can cause confusion and be used to cheat people, so such claims should be checked on rbi.org.in or with official government fact-check handles before being shared.
